We Support OAR

50% of our profit from all of the sales on our store are donated to (OAR) Organization for Autism Research. We support OAR because of their reputation for careful and appropriate use of donor funds, as well as their transparency, and accountability.

According to the CDC, 1 in 68 children (or 14.7 per 1,000 eight-year-olds) in multiple communities in the United States have been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). That is a 30% increase than was reported in 2012.

organization for autism research

OAR is an organization founded and led by parents and grandparents of children with autism. They use science to address the social, educational, and treatment concerns of self-advocates, parents, autism professionals, and caregivers. They fund research that they use to disseminate new and useful information to many members of the autism community. Rather than fund research relative to cause and cure, OAR funds pilot studies on topics of more every day relevance such as education, parent and teacher training, communication, self-care, social skills, employment, behavior and adult and community issues. In pursuing its efforts to change lives, our ultimate focus is quality of life.

We encourage you to visit the OAR website and ask that you please consider supporting their work.
